MEMORIALS
This page is dedicated to the past Brittanys we have been fortunate enough to have hunted over, owned and or bred.
PJ’s Wenzel Scrum Lord O Doc call name Wenzel was a gift for me for graduating from Veterinary School. Named after a favorite instructor and Rugby team captain from Vet school, Dr James Wenzel, DVM, PHD, DACVT, DACVPM. He was my one and constant companion at that time riding on all farm calls, all fishing trips and of course all hunting trips. By one year of age we had killed 186 birds over him and trained almost daily. He fetched when he wanted to, worked upland and water fowl. His nick name by the locals was “HOOVER” because he vacuumed up all of the birds in the field. In 10 years NO ONE ever killed a bird behind him ever. In his last 3 years of grouse hunting here in the north woods we kept a log: We averaged killing 1 out of 8 birds flushed; 1 out of 3 shot at and in 3 years we killed 476 ruffed grouse over him including a limit with Jackie the morning before my son Thomas was born. Doing the math that dog and Doc worked over 3800 birds in 3 years! Sadly we did not breed him but are working now to reconstruct his lines that worked so well for us. He and Fester have a lot in common genetically and abilities wise.

"Bubba"
OFA Good
This is a hard loss to take but we lost our beloved Bubba to a short battle with lymphoma in July 2022. Our hearts are crushed. Run free buddy and find the birds. I know you will be the first one to greet me at the Rainbow Bridge. I love you and miss you every day.
International Champion
Dr Jac’s Bazooka Belle MH
"Belle"
OFA Good
Jan 10, 2008 - Today...
We lost her in October. You think at 13 1/2 you'd be ready... but you never are. Belle was my first bred by puppy we kept. She was OFA GOOD. Belle was an outstanding bird dog. She was an AKC Master Hunter and the kids put on an International Show Title on her as well as using her as a juniors dog. Belle and I had fun placing in almost every juvenile stake in field trieals and even taking 2 points in Amature Walking Gun Dog. Belle was a smiler and was very serious about her birds. No birds were left behind. She lives on in her pups, grand pups and great grand pups. Already missed. RIP Belle...
Granmars Sweet Dreams "Luna"
Luna crossed over to the bird fields in Heaven in October of 2019.
We miss her dearly.

Yoda is a gift for Thomas who has been asking for his own pup for a long time. Yoda is a very intense and bold young dog who is stunning on point. Yoda has derby points and multiple juvenille field trial placements. Yoda is an International Champion and Junior Hunter thanks to his young master and handler Thomas. Thomas handled Yoda to 3rd money male in the 2011 Central Futurity Show. Jackie handled Yoda to a 3rd place in Gun dog at the field portion of the futurtity. Yoda was titled "Dual Dog" which was quiet an accomplishment. Thomas and Yoda also do Junior Showmanship together.
** We lost Yoda in to a very aggressive tumor. Yoda crossed the rainbow bridge in September 2017 he is very missed.**

"Fester"
OFA Fair
In 2002 we acquired MC'S Fred Bear O'Dee, MH as an 8 week old puppy from MC'S Brittanys in California. Founders Chuck and Michele Sherer produced this dog from several O'Dee crosses. Both his sire and dam go back to HOF NAFC DC AFC Char-Lee O’Dee. Call name “Fester” he has proven to be the bird machine his O’Dee lines said he would be "Fester finished his International Championship in one weekend in Hutchinson, MN in May 2007. The Internation Championship is based on the breed standard. "Fester" received 4 V-1's the highest score possible in all four shows. He was AKC show pointed at the top of the standard and solidly built to withstand the rigors of a season long hunt.

Fester was with us for 11 years and hunted hard all of those years. He was Eric's truck buddy and will be missed. Fester was an AKC Master Hunter, he also had an adult field trial placement with Thomas handling him, was an international Show Champion and AKC show pointed.
Some frozen semen is available, contact us for more information 715-798-4458.
Dr. Jac's Mortisha CDX, SH
Mort had 4 of the 5 MH legs, 12 AKC show points, major pointed, Best of Breed Winner
It is with great sadness that Mort has crossed the Rainbow Bridge at only 8 years of age. She was out of well bred dual quality dogs DC/AFC Kacie's Sir Duncan of Dash MH and AFC Lynsey's Maggie Malone MH. Mort fought a short but courageous battle with an anaerobic bacterial infection that took her from us despite what we did at our clinic or what the University of Minnesota Vet School did. We are unsure of how she contracted it. Mort was an outstanding dog and did not get early time campaigning due to small children and a growing business. She excelled at obedience getting her CD in 3 straight runs and her CDX in 5 runs. Mort finally got her well deserved time out in the spring of 2008 campaigning for her hunt test titles. Mort went out with our trainers Chad and Jodi Hines of Willow Creek Kennels. Chad put 4 back to back passes on Mort for her Senior Hunting title and she received 2 plaques for highest Senior scores. Chad felt that Mort was very ready to cross over for her Master Hunting title so they started pursuing that title the following weekend and she passed both days. Mort achieved 4 out of 5 Master legs this spring and was set up to run this fall to finish her Master title. Mort's favorite people were children, but she loved everyone. A few of Mort's talents in the field were cutting off a running bird and retrieving and/or finding anyone's crippled bird. Mort blessed us with 3 litters of pups and all have her wonderful disposition and desire to please. All are wonderful hunting dogs. Mort was a great foundation bitch for our kennel. She will be missed and live on in her pups. In Heaven Mort is hunting with the best as a Master Hunter.

Tank |
Tank was Mort and Fester’s first born in our last litter. He hunted from the first day he got out of the whelping box until the day he died. He was bold and blocky just like his daddy and a pleaser like his mother. Tragically he died in a hunting accident.
Swanson’s Molly Dee call name Molly was my father’s first Brittany. She was as Pete said the last of the Towsey Lines. Whether or not this was true can be debated but she was my introduction to Brits and bird hunting. Tragically Molly was lost at 8 years of age to a traffic accident. Gun dog extraordinaire, a killing machine and a natural retriever she was a fine introduction to the sport for a boy of 4.

Missy |
Missy my first Brit was out of Molly. Soft yet patient with me as she was the first dog I attempted to train at age 10.
She was held back by my abilities as a trainer not her potential and hunted hard for 13 years upland and waterfowl. Frustrated with me at times by my poor marksmanship, she was known to fetch decoys and stash coots at the end of the day. She is the only Brit I’ve had that loved to fetch Woodcock.
Murphy my uncle’s dog out of Molly and Missy’s brother is the Brit I shot my first Rooster over at age 11 on my Great Grandfather’s farm. Murphy was truly a game dog leaving no birds in his wake for others to work. He took off from where his mother started him and never stopped. Murphy hunted until he was 14.
